Long before the trademarks, the books or the broadcast segments, Dr. Leola Anifowoshe was a leader in search of a discipline rigorous enough to hold her curiosity. She earned a PhD in Leadership & Management and built the habits that still define her practice: read the whole record, question the obvious answer, and never confuse a symptom with a cause.

That training explains something people often notice about her work. She approaches hair and scalp concerns the way an investigator approaches a case file — chronology first, evidence second, conclusions last.

Her subject matter chose her. A sarcoidosis diagnosis brought years of medication, and with it severe hair loss. She has described the experience plainly in national interviews: hair loss is not vanity, it is visibility. It changes how a person shows up in the world.

Rather than accept it as inevitable, she became obsessed with the question nobody around her was asking — why. That question turned a personal loss into a professional discipline, and eventually into a body of work other practitioners now train on.

Investigative Trichology® is the methodology that came out of that search. It treats hair change as a signal rather than the story: nutrient and mineral balance, stress and adrenal patterns, the scalp environment, cellular energy, inflammation, metabolic and lifestyle influences are all read together before a single recommendation is made.

Its public face is The Hair Loss Detective™, and its operating principle fits in four words she repeats often: we don’t guess, we investigate. The framework has since expanded into The Hair Investigation™ intake system, Cell Decode™ biological mapping, and the ScalpFIT™ governance standard for licensed practitioners.

Dr. Leola completed Harvard Executive Education in Lifestyle Wellness & Nutrition, and trained as a certified trichologist across five countries. She holds membership in the World Trichology Society and the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.

That combination — international clinical training plus executive-level study of lifestyle and nutrition — is why her work sits comfortably in both a science conversation and a wellness one without drifting into either extreme.

In Houston she founded Texas Hair Restoration & Wellness Center, Home of The Hair Loss Detective™, where the methodology meets real people every week. Consultations there begin with listening rather than recommending; the intake is deliberately long because the answer is usually in the history.

The Center is also where her technology was proven in practice: the ResusciStation™, a multi-modality regenerative scalp platform, and RevivaLation™ SMP, a precision density-restoration system. One supports the environment beneath the surface; the other refines what the world sees.

Her research platforms carry the work outward. Trichology Today® publishes the thinking, HairInvestigations.com serves the consumer side, and the American Trichology Academy trains the professionals who will apply it. Through NAFPOC she advocates for inclusive hair health awareness and for closing the assessment gap that leaves textured-hair concerns routinely under-investigated.

On stage, Dr. Leola is a case-study speaker rather than a slide reader. Keynotes and conference sessions cover root-cause assessment, hair loss in Black women, the shedding timeline through postpartum and perimenopause, and how practitioners can build an investigative intake that holds up.
